Privacy policy
This website is a static site: every page is a ready-made file, there is no database, no user account, no comment function and no contact form. This policy describes what happens to personal data when you visit it.

Hosting and server log files
The site is served by the hosting provider Orange Website (Iceland). Iceland is a member of the European Economic Area and applies the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). When a page is requested, the web server processes technical data to deliver the page and to keep the server secure and stable, usually the IP address, date and time, the requested URL, the referring page, the browser type (user agent) and the HTTP status. This data is held in server log files by the hosting provider. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in a secure and reliable website). How long the hosting provider keeps the log files is set by the hosting provider. The data is not used to identify visitors and is not merged with other data.
E-mail contact
Anyone writing to info@hornung-embedded.org has the message, the sender address and anything else in the mail processed in order to answer it (Art. 6 (1) (b) or (f) GDPR). The mail is deleted when the matter is settled and no retention duty applies.
What this site does not do
It sets no cookies and stores nothing in the browser (no local storage).
It uses no tracking, no analytics and no advertising.
It has no comment function and no contact form.
It embeds no third-party content such as videos, maps, social media widgets or externally hosted scripts, stylesheets or images.
Fonts and downloads
The fonts (Inter, Space Grotesk and JetBrains Mono) are served from this server. So are the downloadable CV (PDF, in English and German) and the preview images for social media. These are plain files without tracking; downloading them sends no data to third parties.
Links to other websites
The pages contain plain links to other websites, namely GitHub and graznik.de. Nothing is transmitted to these sites when a page of this site is opened. Only after clicking a link, the other site receives the usual connection data under its own privacy policy.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right of access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and objection to processing based on legitimate interest (Art. 21). Please write to info@hornung-embedded.org. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). There is no automated decision-making and no profiling.
